nontypical speedo question August 24, 2011, 02:14:33 PM I've searched the forum and can't find an answer to this . I have a 1983 Cougar that I am putting a big block in and still want the speedo to work . It has the digital dash with a speedo cable going to it and I need to know if all the controls for it are integrated into the dash cluster ? or will it not work since I am removing the engine ecm ? also has anybody got these older dashes to read over 85 mph yet ?Thanks Quote Selected

nontypical speedo question Reply #3 – August 24, 2011, 10:13:36 PM Anything with a speedo cable is driven by the transmission, ECM has zero effect on operation... Quote Selected

nontypical speedo question Reply #5 – August 26, 2011, 12:03:14 AM buttstuffog dashes can be swapped in a re-tuned. 85 to 88 digi's can be modified to read over 85mph but cannot be easily bolted into an 83-84 dash. You may be able to modify it to work. I personally like the 85-88 better myself. Quote Selected
