crazy plan for my old $500 linc.

My idea is this, I'm going to paint the LSC, but, I don't want to just do another normal paint job. And I hate racing stripes. What I do love is 1980's nascar. So I've decided to do a fantasy nascar tribute. I know there was never a Winston Cup Lincoln, but this is more of a what if. I looked at a lot of cars before I picked the number 15 Motorcraft thunderbirds red and white. I love it, I think the mark wears it well. And honestly the idea of driving down the highway in an 80's nascar makes me grin. Even though it's really just a 200k miles stock lsc in wolfs clothing. with the look of a nascar, some healthy exhaust, and the comfort and leather of a linc, I think Its a nice combo. Your input is welcome.

I have mixed emotions about those kind of paint jobs. If the car is truly built for some serious power, and has the right tires and wheels,...like Nascar style wheels and really wide tires, maybe.

The paint would have to be done right, and the graphics done right. You can't cheap out on something like that.

Personally, in the end,I say find a really nice color, and keep it simple. Sometimes, saying very little says a whole lot, and saying a lot says very little.

A dark metal flake burgundy, Black Raven metal flake (specs of blue flake), something like that. Something that you can take and whip some a$$, and then go out to a nice dinner in style....with a deep, rumbly exhaust.

I know exactly what ya mean vin, and your input means a lot to me.  But you must remember that I'm talking about my backup car, the one I take when I brake my other car.  It was almost free, and when it comes to painting a near free car, why not make it fun.  And remember who your talking to, I drive this every day :)

classy isn't really me.lol

If you are going to have multiple vehicles, you have to have one nice one to take the sweetie out with and look good doing it. If you have that, then yes, paint the 7 in the red and white scheme and ad some nicely done vinyl graphics then clear over them. Also, you HAVE to have a side exhaust and the wide tires and black wheels, or wide chrome Nascar style wheels like they were using in the 'late 80's. I would keep the factory chrome parts in chrome for some contrast, and tinted glass. Also, front spoiler.

I agree, that's why we have her car.

it's going to have the 2.3l turbo from my old thunderbird here soon, pumping out 300rwhp on full SVO suspension, and air conditioning.
we also have the Predator, coming along nicely.

thats going to be the real classy one.

but whats real funny is she can't wait to drive the other car to work.  that one has no a/c no power anything, plastic seats, no radio, and no overdrive.  It's this.

2.3l turbo, Holset, C4, and a lot of n2o, 4:10's and as much wait removed as possible.  should be running soon.
AND YES i KNOW i HAVE TO MANNY PROJECTS.  But in my defense two of them are hers. :)

Sounds like a plan to make your LSC one of a kind. Keep us posted on your progress.

I am looking at a couple of Mark VIIs myself. I have a thread up regarding this.
2003 Marauder 300B
1996-97 Cobra wheel straight but weathered (For Sale)
84 TC manual shifter handle no  (For Sale)

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

How did you create that rendering?  I love that.  I need to do that with my car to layout some stripes and graphics.
