5.0 swap in a 86 XR7 2.3T

I think I got most of the basics covered.  But I need to know how people have done the fuel system.

I need a set of Chucks W motor mounts, I have a C4 already.  Im going to be using my 86 XR7 wiring harness with STingers pimp to control the car.  I know I will need a v8 fuel injector harness.

I already have a 8 year walbro 255 hi pres/volume.  My fast friend has suggested this pump.  http://www.deatschwerks.com/fuel-pumps/300+-lph-high-flow-in-tank-fuel-pump    The price is reasonable.  Got to have enough fuel if you are going to party turbo 5.0 style....  :)

So does everybody just replace all the lines or what.  I need to keep cost done.  I would like to replace everything in uber stuff.  Not going to happen on my budget.

Thanks,

Travis

Here's a link to another fuel pump that offers a bit more flow: http://www.jegs.com/i/Aeromotive/027/11140/10002/-1?parentProductId=1498076.

I haven't found what would be considered a cheap way to upgrade the fuel system.

The diameter of the fuel pick up and stock lines inhibit volume.

To get around the pick up issue, you can modified the fuel pickup with 3/8 brake line on the supply and 5/16 on the return (using adapters to mate to AN-8 &-6).

Hose, fittings, filters, Y-blocks, fuel rails, pressure regulator all push the tally up.

I've done pricing from Glenn's and then tried to piece a similar system from Summit.  It's possible to save a few hundred doing it that way, but $700-$800 still isn't cheap...

Using one pump may drop the price a bit (most recommendations are for (2) 255 LPH pumps in parallel).  The 340 LPH may be enough, depending on the power level.

If you are looking to make big power, the upgrade has to be done, or you're just making an expensive grenade.

I was think this year to get a bigger pump then my decade old 255lph pump.  Keeping the stock lines with the understanding that they wont support over 500rwhp on gas.  I was going to run a set of used stock lightning injectors.  With that being said....do I need just to change the connectors at the engine bay for the differences in the placement with the stock fuel lines.

I need to upgrade some many other things with the car.  The rear end is still a stock 3.45 7.5".  So I just need the stock stuff to support 450-500rwhp.  After I get the rear end, rear suspension, front suspension, sub frame connectors, then I may try to squeeze 550rwhp with a stock block.  Maybe some e85 mixed in as well.

Thanks,

Travis
