*Clutch cable and or adjusters - You can use the stock cable if you wish, but it just seems wise to me, to put an adjuster in when you do this install. The stock cables do stretch over time, and you will eventually be happy that you did. In my case, I went with a firewall adjuster. If you do the same, on your Cougar/Thunderbird, you will need to change your brake booster out for a smaller Mustang unit. The 1987-93 Mustang booster is the easiest bolt-in replacement. The 1994-up unit can be used, but requires redrilling one of the bolt holes in the firewall, and through the pedal assembly (I went with an '88 unit). Of course, the simple solution for this is to just buy an adjustable cable.
