blinkers and dash cluster

OK, so I've been reading about others that have had some electrical problems and I don't know if they were quite the same as the issue I'm having.  I'm beginning to think it may be a short, and not just a fuse.  (although I don't have the car with me today, and won't be able to check fuses till this weekend)

SO, anyway. I went home for Easter break and as it began to get darker...I flipped on my head lights.
As I did, my digital instrument panel immediately went out.  There is still an illuminated panel, but it's the digits that don't light up.
The only other thing I have noticed is that the turn signals don't work either.

Does this sound like a short circuit or a simple fuse issue?  Since it happened as I turned on the lights, I would assume it to be a fuse, but again...I won't be able to check till this weekend.

Thanks

I've had this happen.  For me, it was the crummy connectors in the back of the cluster.  Mine has been out a few times and may have contributed to the problem.  I just pulled it out, cleaned the contacts, and put it back in.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

And what about bad grounding? Do the turn signals work (outside)?

Nope, they don't work inside or outside
