11 inch front brakes-underway Reply #15 – June 27, 2006, 12:01:18 AM You might as well whip it out and soak the brake lines with your own piss, probably do a better job than the wd 40.. put some blaster on there! regarding the brake lines... if you heat them up you will have to flush the entire system.. but you should do that anyway... I use a line wrench with a pair of vise grips clamped down on them to prevent the wrench from spreading. Quote Selected
11 inch front brakes-underway Reply #16 – June 27, 2006, 11:46:38 PM Mine were seized also. I used PB Blaster and vise grips. do not use a wrench. You'll strip the nuts for sure. Vise grips are your friend here Quote Selected
11 inch front brakes-underway Reply #17 – June 28, 2006, 12:56:00 AM actually combine the two tools.. place the line wrench on the fitting then clamp the vise grips on the line wrench jaws. This little tip will allow you to remove any fitting..... well most of them! Quote Selected
11 inch front brakes-underway Reply #18 – May 03, 2011, 10:33:03 AM Quote from: ThunderbirdSport302;90633well, one snag right off....the fittings are frozen to the lines...i've been soaking the hell out of 'em with WD-40 (all ive got here right now)if worse comes to worse, and they won't budge, i'll have to cut the lines, and re-flare them, although I'm not good at that...Would it be safe to use some heat from a propane torch on it?...very carefully of course, i know how flammable brake fluid is!! :hick: other than that, and the lack of brake pads till day after tomorrow, it's all but done...thanks guys...:D Bring'er back...... What fitting did you wind up needing for the hard to soft lines????? Quote Selected
