I had a 94 Mustang GT vert a couple years ago. It had DD 03 Cobras on it 17*9, and 10.5 in the back. 245/45, and 275/40's. I took a pair of 315/35's up to the local shop.

"Put the 275's on the front end, and the 315's on the back". "Ill take the 245's with me".

I decided to check up on it a few minutes later.

Smart guy decided he'd just bolt the 10.5's with the 275's on the front end, and then put the 315's on the *9's. I saw the 10.5s on the front and started yelling, JUST STOP, PUT DOWN THE WRENCH. The manager looked all pissed at me, then saw what they were doing, and just sat back down and put his face in his hands, saying OMG, Im so sorry. He walked out in the shop and straightened them out.

True story. Fun car, too.

Ive Been lucky Ive always had access to a mounting machine and wheel balancing machine. The last time i got a deal on tires for my plow truck with aluminum wheels the tech balanced the wheels with weights for steel wheels. I didn't get a mile down the road and the weight started flying off. Well at least I know what it feels like driving with four unbalanced tires
