Battery Relocation

Does anybody know if I need to drive holes in my trunk to vent my battery? I bought a kit from Summit but know where in the instructions does it say anything about venting the battery. My trunk is air-tight and a friend suggested I drill holes in my trunk to vent it. I'd also like to move my starter relay to the trunk. Does anybody know the best way to do this or how to do this?

Which box did you buy? I got a box that is sealed and has a vent hose that I drilled a hole for.

The box itself does have some small vented slots at the top in two different locations and the opening for the battery cables are large enough to fit my hands in so venting the box isn't an issue. My concern is if I'll have to drill holes in my actual trunk to vent the trunk to the outside or should I be fine just letting the battery vent into the trunk?
The box I got should be shown in the link below.

Hmm. I went to a sealed box because I didn't know if it would be safe to use a box like that. I afraid I can't help much.

I could be wrong but I believe that style box is not meant to go in the trunk. Any gasses that come from the battery (hydrogen I think is the main one) will work their way into the passenger compartment. I would go with a sealed box like this one... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TAY-48100/ Of course, sealed batteries might not need all this.
