using da1 computer in an 88 5.0 automatic May 14, 2005, 07:41:45 AM hello guys! I have a 1988 bird with 5.0. Im converting to HO. can i use the 86-88 speed density da1 computer in my bird with an automatic AOD? The cool cats site says something to the effect that its acceptable to use a manual transmission computer in an automatic but not vice-versa.Just want verification. Thank You. JIM Quote Selected

The auto and stick computers for all '86-'88 or '89-'93 Stangs are interchangeable auto or stick makes no difference. But don't try it on the '94-up Stangs... Quote Selected
