I removed the wiper motor "park mechanism" (located on the firewall on my '86 as part of the motor assembly), disassembled it, cleaned all the copper contacts and reassembled. It never happened after that.Also, as a tip to everybody on these forums, don't try to activate your wipers in the winter until you've assured that they aren't frozen to the windshield. The resulting shock can fracture components in the motor due to the below-freezing temperatures and stress on the motor and linkage. Quote Selected
