can anyone give me info on converting to mass-air from speed density?

I've got an 88 thunderbird lx 5.0 I is all stock under the hood. I just got an explorer upper and lower intake setup with tb, mass air, and inj. I am not sure how hard the conversion to mass air is and if the throttle body/egr spacer, and throttle linkage. thanks any help will be appreciated.

why are you converting? did you get the heads/cam to go with it? are you running an HO computer?

all you need is the computer, to re-pin your cars plug with 3 new wires, and to run them up to the maf.

search around, it's been talked about thousands of times

You need to do the H.O conversion first. Then go from there.

A STOCK HO actually runs quicker on a Speed Densety setup... You cannot run any HO computer on a std 5.0, firing orders are different, injectors are smaller, etc...

This is VERY true. When I did the H.O swap a few years back for the first time, that car pulled HARD. Awesome running Bird. No Mass Air needed. The H.O swap can be done in just a few hours. Not a big deal at all, but it'll make a HUGE difference in your car. Here's what you'll need....

H.O cam
H.O speed density computer
8-19# injectors
double roller timing chain (I'd swap on a new water pump as well if yours is old)
better than stock exhaust

That's it (other than gaskets and fluids).

The lower intake is the same HO and non HO, Optimally you should run at least the HO upper and throttle body .  The stock heads will perform adequately. I left my stock heads alone when I did the HO conversion.

Lots of people, me included, run a h.o. intake and throttle body on a stock s.o. before doing the swap.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
