Was diggin around the net for info on the TC and found this. Amazingly, it looks like ford designed the front clip of the 87 model first and fit it to an 86 body. I wonder when they decided to change the back?

All I see that tells me it's an 87 is the front end, hood, and snowflakes

Anyone agree / confirm this?

looks like a pre 87 to me, other than the header panel etc.. glad they decided to change the tail lights, i love the 87-88 tails.. not so much for the previous years
