3.8liter 87 and down alternator bracket

If you own a 87 and down 3.8,, this question is for you.
My alternator/smog pump bracket assembly recently busted in a couple places.  I found a good one on a gold tbird thats been wrecked.  This engine was very virgin under the hood.

what blew me away was this tubular brace that goes from the top side of the alternator accessory bracket to the intake manifold.

its just a metal tube fab'd up with two holes up at the intake and one for the alternator side.

i have never ever seen this brace before on any 3.8 and i wonder if anyone out there has this or not.

if no one know what im talking about , ill take a pic.
the reason i bring this up is because in the past if i had a miss or a rough running condition, the alternator would be vibrating real bad so i guess this brace the goes from the alt to the intake plays a pretty important role.

im assuming you mean the one thats running parallel with the intake tube, correct?
It's Gumby's fault.

yep,,,, thats the one.  Im not sure why ive been missing this piece and why i have not noticed it before not.  I always wondered what that threaded hole was for on top of the alt bracket.

Yep! The alt. bracket.  Painted mine last year. How could your car be missing that?

i dont know,, and it even funnier that i have not noticed this bracket on any other 3.8l in the bone yards.  It sure did stiffen up the alternator.
