it's alive June 23, 2010, 07:22:02 PM finally got the bird back on the road. t5 swap is complete. was an extremely simple swap. took about 5 hours start to finish and most of that was hunting down bolts i didnt have.pulls hard now, going to swap in some 3.73's or 4.10's soon. then it's time to start redoing the motor.best part of all of it?$50 for trans, shifter, clutch kit, quadrant, and cable$75 for the bellhousing$20 for rear main seal and pilot bearingi have $145 in my 5 speed conversion.had to modify my crossmember by grinding the welds down and sliding it to centered like a 5 speed unit and had to shorten my driveshaft 1.5". did the driveshaft myself with a grinder, sawzall, tape measure, and 110v Harbor Freight flux core welder...holding so far and no vibes up to 100mph.....:burnout: Quote Selected

it's alive Reply #2 – June 23, 2010, 11:41:30 PM Very strange. Should not have been necessary to shorten the d/s at all. I didn't on mine...didn't even have to mod the crossmember. You know what they say though, pics or bullshiznit, lol Quote Selected
