For sale: Ford 8.8" rear, 3.55 gears, trac-lock, 31 spline Reply #4 – August 25, 2010, 05:53:25 AM Actually this was from a customer's F-150. Eight months ago I replaced the rear brakes on it, and yesterday he had it towed in, all pissed off because his rear brakes locked up, this being the typical customer that blames all future problems with his vehicle on the last guy that worked on it. As soon as I tried to move it I knew it was the rear end. I had to remove the rear driveshaft, shift into 4wd and drag the back wheels just to get it into the shop. I know you guys like carnage so I thought I'd post pics :hick: Quote Selected

For sale: Ford 8.8" rear, 3.55 gears, trac-lock, 31 spline Reply #6 – August 25, 2010, 07:46:25 AM The pics don't even really do it justice. The actual diff housing exploded, but strangely, the diff pin did not break. When I put the truck on the hoist I didn't even have to undo the lug nuts on the left side, I just pulled on the wheel and it came off, axle shaft and all... Quote Selected

I wonder if the guy knew to check his rear end lube? (, that's dirty, lol) Quote Selected
