TC hood May 04, 2005, 10:10:20 PM Ive got a turbo coupe hood on lockdown how do i duct it for my 5.0 can i reuse the airbox from the TC i dont think it will fit. But i dont want the hood if the scoops are useless my whole reasoning behind it is for the cooler charge temp and the ram air part of it. Quote Selected
Re: TC hood Reply #1 – May 04, 2005, 10:35:38 PM TC hoods are ducted for an intercooler not for the air box. You will have to find a way to run it to the air box if that is what you are wanting. Quote Selected
Re: TC hood Reply #2 – May 05, 2005, 08:26:20 AM you might be able to make a box near your tb for it sence thats where the intercooler sits anyway. then use a pannle filter their. Quote Selected
Re: TC hood Reply #3 – May 05, 2005, 10:35:45 PM thats what i was thinking manson but i think i would have to extend the ducting farther to clear the 5.0 tb but that would be one short freaking intake lol. Sidebar that airbox in the TC is an intercooler?? Quote Selected
Re: TC hood Reply #4 – May 05, 2005, 11:20:21 PM intercooler sits on that side of the engine compartment, the scoop seals against it, and blows air over it Quote Selected
Re: TC hood Reply #5 – May 05, 2005, 11:28:01 PM and i need to take new pics of my engine bay...looks terrible in that pic Quote Selected
Re: TC hood Reply #6 – May 05, 2005, 11:36:49 PM Mounting a filter/airbox in that location and trying to use the scoops as a ram air inlet or the like is just a good way to be sure to suck up a bunch of water into the engine when it rains......If you route some ducting back over near the stock location you can at least allow for some drainage.. Re: TC hood Reply #7 – May 15, 2005, 08:54:04 PM I thought that I remembered someone long ago saying that there was major issuses with the 5.0 and the ducting? I have one on my 5.0, but no duct work. Quote Selected
