Hidden power in the Mustang unleashed.....

Back in May I had JDM mail me an updated tune for my car for the gear swap I did (went from 3.31's to 3.73's and the parameters were locked so I couldn't change the settings via my hand held device).  Long story short, the car ran decent, but felt lacking.  With the old tune it was MUCH more willing to downshift and give me the optimal gear for power.

I went to Realspeed in Bohemia NY on Thursday August 5th to remedy this.
Strapped the car on the dyno and let Dan Carlson ( a former engineer for Steeda) work his magic.

In Thursdays horrendous air at around 4:30 PM the car made 396/356 ON A MUSTANG DYNO!  I've done some math and figured the DA to be around 2200-2300 feet on the day in question.  Figure all that in and one could guess about 425/380 on a dynojet....

Also remember this is a non-intercooled setup with a 6 pound pulley.  The first pull of the day the car made 9.5 pounds.  As the air got worse it got lower, but as you can see it still mad 8.8 after being flogged a few times and warmed up on a  day.

P.S.  The car grabs 2nd @ 60 MPH when you stab the gas pedal :burnout:

I got a track date on November 15th with a group of 15 guys and we got the track all to ourselves......

11's....they will happen. ;)

Nice wide power band - much better than dyno sheets with a small peak. I wonder how it compares to the 2011's that are all engine (I assume you're much quicker).

So, what did that GT of yours come with horsepower-wise from the factory? Did you make an initial run at the track in stock form?

 P.S. Very cool!

Keeps pulling till you shut it down @ 6,500!  Must be great fun with the instant boost on a downshift.

A November track time: cool weather and a blower car, great combination to set a PB.
