I spent a LOT of time with my AOD modifying the shift linkage so that it would operate my Mark VII auto floor shifter that uses a cable all the way to the shifter which mounts flush to the tranny tunnel without making a huge hole in the top, so this configuration of the transmission kickdown lever is familiar to me since I detached it numerous times to work around it to make my shifter linkage work. I would like to at some point replace the kickdown rod with a cable. Quote Selected

PA AOD KICK DOWN CABLE (TV CABLE) 1987-1993 will this fit a 1988 cougar XR7??? Reply #3 – August 01, 2010, 11:17:15 PM It should be the same. I bought on of the few remaining (only 3 left in the country!) NOS TV cables for column shifted T-birds and Cougars left in the country last fall. It cost me ~ $100. Quote Selected
