10 Things...

10 things I've realized this year:

1. Cars suck. People suck. Everything sucks. Could be worse though, I could own a Yugo. :D

2. I'm too old to lay on the ground in the wind in December and fight with a fugging T5. All you bastages with heated garages...eat it..someday, I'll have my garagemahal lol.

3. People suck, who criticize others' choices in vehicles...when their own clapped out rolling wreck is far worse off.

4. I have no recollection of where all the parts/bolts/nuts go on my Thunderbird. Scary.

5. Kids will wreck every plan you can ever make to attempt to accomplish ANYTHING. with that said...

5.5 My kids are the most important thing in my life...I'd sell the Tbird in 2 seconds for them, if I had to.

6. Hangovers hurt worse these days. That's why I only allow them on Sundays now. :toilet: lol

7. The Mustang guys have it all wrong...Stangs make better parts cars for Thunderbirds, not the opposite.

8. Keep your pickle in one jar...(unless you're like me, and the jar isn't big enough) :shakeass:

9. Be kind to your pets, and spay/neuter your neighbors...I think that's in the right order..?

10. 2010 has been the best year of my entire life. I'm not letting the trend fade away. Anyone that gets in my way of peace of mind and faith will get smashed flatter than shiznit on the interstate. :hick: just sayin'. :rollin:

I'm in the best shape of my life, I have a family, and a hope and a dream. This is my time. I ain't shagin' around with the Sport anymore, this summer it'll be out and about. It may not be a show car, but it WILL be a go car.

It just might get a stablemate too...we'll see how things turn out. :D

Well I'm not too old to lay on the ground and fit with a car, but in Massachusetts, it's too cold.  I have a garage, but at the moment my 1972 Oldsmobile is in there, not that I ever work on that car, but it's worth substantially more than the bird, so I should protect it, right? But it isn't heated, and after doing the motor swap on the Tbird, I've lost my drive for any more big projects. but hey, the bird is a driver, it doesn't need to be pretty, right?

I have no recollection of where all parts/bolts/and pieces of my Thunderbird are either, don't feel bad. I have so many pieces scattered around, it's scary.

Most everything that we think sucks can be easily avoided. People tend to put themselves in bad situations. There are some people that suck. As soon as I figure out who they are,I remove myself from that situation. I have a choice to stay in the chaos, or get away from it......I get away from it.....whatever the chaos is. I'm too old to deal with it, and I'm a better person for it.

As far as kids go,I guess I've been lucky. If I can't take my kid (one of them),I probably didn't need to go there anyway.

You're probably making the build on your car harder than it has to be. Pick a section of the car,and put it together. When you're done with that, move to the next. With fasteners,if you don't know where they go, there are many here glad to try to help.Just do it.

There are people who like to say how someone should do their cars, they seem to have all the advice to give, but can't get their own car put together. Take the info you like from them and leave the rest. No big deal. I built mine in the driveway,in the open air, by myself.I did it by simply DOING IT. One piece at a time. Every single bolt that I turned was one step closer to being finished. I swapped engines, dash, fuse panel, intake (twice),dual power seats and a handful of other things this year. Get out there and make it happen. Se things through from beginning to end.,and do it right the first time.

LOL, I can't remember how the rest of the stuff goes back together on the engine.... And I have a whole box of bolts for my car... not sure if they go on it, in it, or I have replaced them with better bolts. And yes, I'm not laying on the ground in the driveway in 10 deg weather anymore. my  arthritis can't do it anymore... That goes for almost any work outside  nowadays
