New toy(s)

Ok, so during the time the forum was down I'd been doing some wheeling and dealing. I sold my Cherokee for $2700 (couldn't get $2000 for it four months ago, but four days before deer season I have a line up of people wanting to buy it for $2700 - go figure).

I needed a 4X4 truck, so first thing I did was start looking for one. After looking through dozens of ads from people who were on crack (beat up old trucks needing engines/transmissions for $3k) I settled on a fairly decent 1998 Sonoma 4X4. The paint is dull but the body is great (and dull paint on a 4X4 doesn't bother me, I will likely scratch it all off anyway beating around in the woods). Best of all I only paid $1500 for it. No pics yet, as it's surrounded by other vehicles in my driveway right now so I can't get any good shots.

That left me with $1200. I figured winter's coming, like it or not, so I may as well enjoy it. I bought a snowmobile. 1995 Yamaha VMax 600, liquid cooled, electric start, reverse, hand & thumb warmers for driver and passenger - fully loaded, baby! Anyway here is my winter time waster (you can actually see the Sonoma in the background of some pics)

Man, the site being down was like a New York City blackout.  As soon as the power is back on everyones pregnant (with new projects).
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

Are you on crack? :hick:

Snow is the worst thing ever. I hate the 3 months a year we have it.

I grew up in Dearborn, then moved to the UP where we used to get multiple feet a year.  I loved it.  Skiing, sledding, drift-busting in my explorer, hot cider and all that stuff.  Now its tacos and people walking around in puffy coats when it hits 50*F in the winter whining "Its so cold".

Dude, SA sits at 100*F for most of the summer.....You can cook ribs by putting them in a dark colored bbq and just putting it in the sun.  It's November and I'm still running the  AC.  I even put an AC in my garage because otherwise its too hot to work my cars.  Screw heat man, I want my Ice and Snow back.

My SC buried in a drift:
