Interchangeable Suspension parts.

I just bought my roomates 93 Cougar. I'm gonna take the front hub assemblies and rear end out to do a 5 lug swap on my 84. The 93 has a 3.8L. Anyone know of anything I should grab for my Cougar that would be beneficial?

Doesn't the 93 have IRS?

I'm not sure, but I don't think those parts are compatible with a Fox body. A 93 also has a different 5 lug bolt pattern than the normal Ford  pattern, it shares the pattern with the Taurus, Continental..etc.:D I also think the rear would be too wide, and requires a sub frame.

Absolutely nothing in the suspension of that MN12 will work in your '84. They are two completely different vehicles, and the MN12 has more in common with a Taurus than it does with a Fox.

Correction: It's a 96.

I can't use axles or front hub assemblies at all then? Nothing from it will benefit my at all as far as 5 lug conversion goes? I paid nothing for the car. I'm gonna take what I want and crush it. This is why I'm asking.

Nothing at all will work. Completely different animal. The rear axles are independent (similar to the front axles in a FWD car, with CV boots et al), the front hubs and spindles are set up for an upper/lower control arm suspension with a coil-over-shock design. As Cougarman pointed out, even the wheel bolt pattern is different from normal Fords.

Well so much for that then. I guess I'll just part what I can off of it and crush it.
