See that is what I am looking forward to with larger wheels and proper tire combo... the improved handling. I mean the old Bird handles pretty good considering it needs everything in the suspension replaced, bushings, shocks, struts, etc. I definitely want to eventually swap out the steering rack for the Sport rack.

Watchdevil.... you may want to look at the 87/88 TC racks too, they are about 2 1/8 lock to lock
1985 TC (yet another one) Fully loaded
has 225k mile  still with the factory head gasket

Same thing. ;)
Some will say to get the pump from the same application, some will argue against it. I'd err on the side of caution though, and get a the right one.

Also, grab a set of TC/Sport sway bars. Throw some good shocks and struts, and you'll swear it's a whole new car...

I am very glad to hear you decided to keep your car:D

What everyone was pointing out was that Birds never came from the factory with an HO
It could have had an HO swap done however , which apparently is more common than I ever thought .
Fox-less at the moment

Take that little plate off, just 4 allen screws hold it on. If the upper intake is indeed an HO, it'll have an "HO" cast in the alloy...

Also, if the injectors are orange, they're 19 pounders, another likely indicator.
How about the headers and valve covers?

Snap a pic of 'er, we can probably tell visually if it's an HO?
