How to clean and polish the lower half of 86 TC

Does anyone know how I can clean up, rather than paint, the lower half of a 86 Turbo TC? It will save me on the paint job, plus it will retain a nice stock look.

I want it to shine like its new

I want it to look like the lower half of this car

SEM trim paint in Charcoal works absolutely fantastic , I re-did the lower portion of my Mark Vii and it came out great and it took less than one can
Fox-less at the moment

it would be easier to repaint, then try to restore something that's sun baked

The trim is both rubber and plastic, at least on 87-88. The plastics I have heard you can rub vasiline or petrolium jelley on it to make it alittle bit softer. I'm not sure how you would fix the rubber trim.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

My mom has a 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the trim around the car became a light grey, so i hit it with a heat gun and it returned the dark grey to the bumper. I dont know if the same can be done to this plastic.
