anyone done an 87 TC 3G upgrade

Just as the title states I would like to know if anyone here has done the 3G upgrade on an 87 TC there seems to be some differances (arguments) between the 88TC's upgrade and the 87TC's upgrade I just want to get it right without having to get the fire extingusher out. Thanks

I did one on my 87 tc a few years ago. I also used the Ranger passenger side bracket to install the 3g on and Mustang pullies.

This is actually for my HO conversion into my 87TC but the wiring conversion should be the same as if I were putting it into a TC. I have already dropped the engine into the bay and modified my mustang bracket to accomidate for the bigger alt. Im just needing to know how you wired your alt I have looked over JCassidy's writeup and am a little confused. On my 87 I had a larger 3 pin connector that had 2 orange/black and one white/black. The orange/black come together at one point and end up as a larger orange/black. The white/black wire on this plug was not hooked up at all. I also have the I-S-A plug. How did you end up wiring everything. Oh ya I have alreay installed the 4ga wire and breaker between the alt and the starter sol. Every thing seems to match up to JCassidy's write up except for the White/black wire that is in the larger connecter along with the orange/black wires. I think I'm going to connect everything just as his writeup states. Just please someone let me know if I need to try and find the other end of the white/black wire and do something with it.

yes. The wiring is the same just change the connector and run bigger gauge wire to the battery. I used the two BLK/O wires together and it acted as a fuse link. White black wire is..... I forget. I think turbocoupe.org was where I found the write up on mine.
