1993 Cobra ECM swap

just something for the spring

1987 cougar
h.o swap out of a 89 gt
mass air
89 gt ecm

anyone hear anything good about the computers from a 93 cobra?
A fox body budy informed me that nothing big was chaged from 89 -93 except the computer had an extra 50hp ????

anyone got any ideas?

The 93 Cobra uses a different:
Set of heads (iron GT40s)
Intake manifold (GT40 style)
a specific cam shaft
1.7 roller rockers
24lb injectors
a 70mm MAF.

If you have a stock HO then adding a Cobra computer is not going to be a good idea. In fact it's a bad idea without any supporting mods. The computer does not add any extra power. Actual mechanical mods add power.
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.

Everything I've read stated that the A9L and A9P computers actually have a slightly more aggressive tune to them.The Cobra engines had more power due to their factory pulleys,Cobra intake (obviously),and GT40 heads.
'88 Sport--T-5,MGW shifter,Trick Flow R intake,Ed Curtis cam,Trick Flow heads,Scorpion rockers,75mm Accufab t-body,3G,mini starter,Taurus fan,BBK long tube headers,O/R H-Pipe, Flowamaster Super 44's, deep and deeper Cobra R wheels, Mass Air and 24's,8.8 with 3.73's,140 mph speedo,Mach 1 chin spoiler,SN-95 springs,CHE control arms,aluminum drive shaft and a lot more..

nice that is all i was looking for. good to know you guys are here to help guys like me that want to keep these things running strong ...if only there was something to save my rear fenders  hahah
