Springs.... non-lowering June 16, 2006, 04:41:01 PM i don't know... i hear a lot of talk here about using different springs for our cats and such, but when it came time for me to change mine, i went cheap (i guess)..... i'm an automotive student so i get Carquest parts at cost so i ordered their front springs and rear cargo coils (variable) THEY ARE COUGAR SPECIFIC SPRINGS ...yeah:)..... i don't know what they cost retail, but i pait $68 for the rear and $84 for the front (which are a bitch to find, they had to get them from ohio).... but my biggest problem in finding them was that i DID NOT want to lower my car and NO ONE seems to have 8 cyl cougar front springs, so thatk got for Carquest..... i figured i'd show some before and after pics of our cat for those of you who don't want to lower your cats...... the cargo coils work great (thanks eric) and the ride is improved dramaticly (probably because a half coil on the bottom of one of the front springs was actually broken off or maybe just due to being worn out after 23 years)... anyway, here's the pics.... it increased the ride height (due to sag i guess) by about 1/2 inch on each wheel and 3/4 inch on the front passenger (not shown) because of that break in the spring (makes me glad i changed them:)).....enjoyBEFORE- Quote Selected
