91 cougar HO

I finally found the car I am looking to use for my H.O. swap. Being as I have only see two 4 banger stangs and maybe 5 or 6 marks,(all pre 87) It looks like this is the engine I have been looking for. I think that it has been played with. It has a 2 1/2 to 3inch exhaust and 2 1/2 split after the axel. The interior has diffrent seats in it and it lhas custom exhaust manifolds. I suspect that this engine maybe be swaped in it. the engine is unusally clean. It has a much smaller radiator then any other 91 to 93 cougar 5.0 I have seen. There is also a v-6 badge on inside. The only thing that bugs me is that there is no damage to the car exept a missing radio and busted window. Meaning that it is either stolen, or a blown engine or tranny. I am looking really hard to get an H.O., or at least most of the parts. I just so happen to have a $500 check comeing on thursday night.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Someone stole the radio while it was sitting at the shop waiting for a motor! :D
Tell him you want some results from a compression test and then drive the thing if possible.

I should have mentioned that it is in a local junkyard. It had rims welded to the frame to hold the car up, so I doubt that I will be test driving it. It is at a u-pull it yard. I should be able to get the whole engine for less then $250 maybe less.

also I live in the middle or nowhere, just a few miles from Salt Lake City Utah. The closest that I am going to find anything is prolly gonna be dever. Even that is a 8 to 10 hour drive. I have almost never found a good H.O. car for cheap. So I am stuck junkyarding.
