Matt you can buy most v8 computers at advanced for around $100 I think I found a replacement A9L but thats mass air not SD might not hurt to try

bigbada-  the stores by me have at least a $75 core charge.  so i'm looking at around $180 plus tax since i don't have a core.  I was going to use that route as a last resort.    I used to see them all the time for around $50 or less for a used unit----but of course i wasn't looking for one at the time.

You can run a 5spd set up with an auto computer without any real problems.  A friend of mine did a HO & 5spd swap on his 88 Cougar XR7.  He couldnt find a SD, HO, 5spd computer at the time so i gave him an automatic one from an 88 GT auto that i have lying around.  Its been working nicely for almost the past year under daily driver conditions.

I've seen a few on Ebay for a fair price.Check over on the Corral.
