With the stock headlights, voltage drop is a very common problem. The headlight switches were suspect to begin with, and the wiring was doubly so. Utilizing Bosch relays, a minimum of an 8 gauge feed wire passing through a self resetting circuit breaker and individual 10 gauge feeds to each relay and headlight will significantly improve the factory headlights.

The above modifications will also allow for slightly higher wattage bulbs to be installed. Don't go crazy here however, or all you end up with is glare and melted headlight housings!

There shouldn't be noticeable more glare when aimed properly than from older halogen headlight assemblies to begin with but the housing WILL melt with bulbs running closer to 100 watts. The reflector in the headlights will likely be damaged very quickly, losing all that light you had originally gained with brighter bulbs.

Man, that's a lot of glare :(

I'm tempted to try relays and heavier wire with my headlights when the weather gets warm (after the passenger heated seat conversion), but I'm NOT putting HID's in there. The glare is horrible as it is. The HID's in my fog lights don't produce much glare at all, but those have a plate to block any light escaping above the horizontal plane.

ok so the fox housings wouldn't work. So what if you have the refractor (spoon looking part over the bulb) would it reduce or even eliminate glare?
