New version of board software to be installed tonight or tomorrow, so expect downtime

Just a heads up - there is a new version of vBulletin waiting to be installed. I did a minor upgrade this evening to prepare for the major upgrade (some of you may have noticed a brief outage this evening of about a half hour) but the big upgrade is still forthcoming. I am just waiting for the newest version of PHP to be installed by GoDaddy, which should happen within 24 hours.

Sorry, we can't afford Flowmasters. We can't afford any lers at all. Straight pipes FTMFW :D

The upgrade is still coming, I'm just trying to figure out how to convert the forum's database, which is currently in mysql version 4.0.27 into something 4.1.0 or higher, as the new software requires this. The trick is to do it without losing everything :D (I've backed up the database, so I should be OK, it's just a matter of convincing Godaddy's MySQL control panel to export the old file into a new format).

Alex? Eric? Any suggestions that would make this easier?

its a shame this place was down last night, i had a million dollars i was going to give away to some lucky member here but when i tried to log in i noticed it was down so i gave it to some bum on the streets instead. money like that would just ruin me anyway :P

on a serious note, what is this upgrade going to do exactly?
this wont be the kind that renders IE6 unuseable here or helps this place get indexed by "the beast"(google), right?

Ok, the upgrade is still forthcoming, I just haven't been successful in transferring the database into the newer format. Maybe if Alex gets his head out of the eggnog he can give me a hand :D
