one last hura! video update on page 2

Well after a LOT of thought, and loss of sleep, it was desided.  My beloved Sasha is not long with us.  Thats right my smashed bird is going to the s yard.  But not before shes given one last shot at glory!

With a damaged rear and a salvage tittle the car no longer fits my neads. And doesn't make sense to keep throughing money at.  So I'm going to pull the plug, but the bright side is Sasha is an orgin doner!  And at the top of the transplant list and a perfect match I found this poor thing.  With a week ticker and a great body, it is a perfect recipient for a new heart!

OK enough with the medifor bull , This bad boy weighs 1,100lbs less than the thunderbird, and with a back seat it makes getting my little girl in and out a lot less painfull.

Now for the guts of the post.  The bird is going to get one more chance at the track, and I'm going to make it count.  every last lb is being shed from the old pig.  I mean If I dont need it it's gone!  A/C, bumper suports, fender wells, you name it its coming out.  And with full boost and warm nitto's she's getting one last chance to run her heart out.

Here's the pics...

I started inside, pulling everything that woiuld unbolt.  still have a few things to go.

She actualy did almost half the work inside.  I couldn't be more in love with this girl!

The next morning I  moved out front. pulled enything I could get my grubby little hands on. Couldn't belive how heavy the bumper stuff was.

just one of my piles.

End of the second day, got it bolted back up, and took it for a test run, and Wow did it run.  I'll getsome videos soon.

And lastly here is the new car, as my girls sister put it, "I'm not getting new toys, just a new toybox."

Hey, what happened!? Last I saw, this car was looking good, and now you're ravaging a perfectly good bumper cover in the name of weight! Sad to hear it, for sure.(I personally am a fan of rattle can paintjobs :D:mullet: )

the bumper cover was broken, far from perfect.  The lower part of the bumper is actualy missing, thats why I didn't feel bad about cutting it up.  Also the reason I cut it.  Since it broke, It has had an over heating problem.  wit the holes there the problem went away.

With the amount of money it would have taken to bring this thing back from the dead, It just isn't worth fixing.  I do plan on getting another one some day, a low mileage survivor, and keeping it bone stock.

I love the new ride....I always wanted to do up a 2 door post fairmount with a solid front axle and an altered wheelbase.  I kinda picture a 460 variant under the hood with hilbourn injection and stacks.

That would be cool, I chose the four door because I dig sleepers.  The plan is to go tube k member coil overs on all four corners, subframe conectors, brakes, swaybars, and rear from the tc, posably a tucked and painted to hide cage, big valve headded high revving 2.3l, 5speed, high boost on meth.  want to get the car down to about 2,100lbs.  Not going to paint it, and the vinal top stays.  I'm in love with the bench seat too.

So in sum 400+hp 4cyl, 2,100lb car, in a car that looks slower than contanental drift!  could you ask for anything more?

I might as well tell everyone at once, vinnie is a stones throw away from me, and seeing as I'm really lazy and shipping takes effort, letting him pick through things first makes a lot of sence to me.

But he only wants a few things, so there will be plenty to spread around.  When vinnie's done I'll post a for sale add.

As for where I found the mont, an older man in San Antonio was selling it on craigslist.  got it for $850

I also just checked with my local 1/8th mile, they are closed Dec, and Jan for upgrades.  Gues the bird will live till then.
