Sold for a penny less than a buck. Quite a deal.

What's it off of? (I'm on dialup right now and don't feel like waiting four hours for the ebay page to load)

83-84 and 85-86 are different, y'know - the bulb layout, and therefore the holes in the metal panel in the trunk, are all different. 85-86 tail lights can not be used on 83-84 cars without some creative rearranging of the sheetmetal - I believe Eric can elaborate, I seem to remember reading on Coolcats that he tried it on his first Cougar

I bought it for my 85 but never got the chance to put it on. It looks identical to broken one I pulled off. Maybe this is only for cougars? I know the 83 had the old style emblems, but as far as I know, they were the same otherwise.

Well... I have an '84 and an '85. If I had time, or cared enough, I could go out and take them apart and compare.

83-84 has the older style logo and 85-96 have the newr style logo. Also the 83-84 have a all red light with the reverse light int the center of the bird logo. The 85-86 have a clear section all to its self for the reverse light. Yup I don't have to look.

I know for a fact that this particular tail light came off of an 84 model and it has the new emblem and bulb layout. Maybe it was a late 84 model?

Ok, I'm back from the cottage and was able to look at it - it's an 85-86 tail light. The 83-4 had the old bird emblem, and they had the backup light in the middle, not on the inner edge as the 85-6 models do. This applies to Cougars and T-Birds (on Cougars the backup light was the Cougar logo as well). This would explain why it was exacty like the one on your '85 :D

'course, it's moot anyway 'cuz it didn't sell :( When you relist, try to have the auction end at about 9:00PM Eastern. 5:00 PM is a bad time 'cuz everyone's on their way home from work.

Only got a day left. If anyone needs one, it's gotta be someone on this board. If I can't sell it, i'm going to have to throw it away, I have no use for it and nowhere to store it.
