I've often thought I'd like to get a set for my Bird but there's no way I would pay that much for a set, especially a set that's not all that great. I know they're hard to find but I'd have a hard time justifying spending $1000.00 on a good set. I'm not saying they're not worth it but I just couldn't do it.

It was at thompson. There was a set of scoops for the tc hood. I talked to the guy for a few minutes and he told me about the effects. They were inside his small trailer.

So, let me get this straight, he had his $10 scoops on display for sale and he had his "$2000 Ground Effects" hidden inside of a trailer? What was up with that? Could it be he didn't want guys looking at his price and laughing?

My only problem is.... putting them on, and not liking them after all that.

FLSTC,

He told me he was afraid of someone picking them up and breaking them... But judging by the condition, that had been done numerous times.

They look gross on these cars anyway. Doubly so for 87-88 T-birds/turbo coupes. They seriously "date" these cars in a major way. I think the design of the car was ahead of it's time and quite elegant. Putting the body kits on them make them look like trashy 80's memorabilia rather than something that could have been made into the 90's. They are all wrong for the design of the aero-birds.

The fox mustang GT suffers for the same reason. LX hatch > GT hatch imho and there is a reason you very rarely see GT ground fx on a notch.

Definitely with shame here. Just my opinion. But every time I see a GT foxbody I try hard but I can't get myself to like it.

I have to disagree.  I think the GST effects make these cars look nice. They do look okay without them, but the effects add to them. There was a dealer borchure of a gst cougar/thunderbird in white with the white "bbs" wheels and it looked really cool.
