When the Cougar first debuted in 1967, the car was similar is style to the Mustang, but with more class and elegance than the little sports car. The Cougar was designed to be a muscle car....with luxury, and through the years it closely followed the Mustang and Thunderbird in style.
This is a fifth generation 1980 Cougar XR-7, only made for two years and thus hard to find. Built on the Fox body (as were the mid-80's Mustang, Thunderbird, and Mark VII) this car has the XR-7 package. The engine is the dependable 200 cubic inch I6 and a 3-speed transmission. The engine has been completely rebuilt and cleaned with new gaskets. It has only 71,000 miles on it and runs great!

This car has a lot of new parts including:
~new starter
~new alternator
~ALL new gaskets in engine, including head gaskets
~new hoses
~new tires
~new brakes
~new brake lines

The car is a slightly faded autumn color with black pin strips, fenders, and rockers-a really nice-looking combination with the chrome! The interior is very clean brown and autumn cloth with vinyl trim. The car was towards the top of the line in 1980 with an buttstuffog clock and a AM FM radio.
The car is well on its way to being fully restored. It needs a little body work on the lower door panels and a instrument gauge needs to be repaired, but it runs great and is in good condition. A rare classic and part of Ford's Mustang/Thunderbird/Cougar story, this car is a beautiful piece of car history and a head turner. Negotiable on the price, starting at $6,500 obo. Please email if you have questions or would like more pictures!

there was an 82 for sale around here for the longest time for $800 and had a v8 with low miles(unrebuilt) and it didnt sell, i believe the poster just gave up posting it.
i felt it was worth that since it ran and wasnt rotted out, plus it was inspected.

theres another tbird(ill post the link when i find it) for $2500 around here too.

i aint saying they are worthless or anything but come on...
