RallyCross and Milan Dragway September 10, 2009, 10:45:24 AM RallyCross:I had the Bird out at a RallyCross again last Saturday. Good fun. I broke the Passenger Side Sway Bar Bracket (and a 12-14 chunk of Pseudo Frame) off before the event, so it took some getting used to running without the sway when transitioning. I wouldn't have competed if the event was as rough as they normally are, but this one was on a Horse Track so it was smooth as could be. An Air Pressure adjustment (dropped the rears) between rounds better balanced the car with the lack of front sway, and I ended up finishing ahead of all the rotarys there (RX2, 2-RX7s, and a RX8) which was a very nice feeling. A couple of them were running Rally Gravel tires too compared to my Dunlops Winters Tires. The two RWD Vehicles that beat me (Miata and a Taco) also both had Rally Tires. No Pics Yet, but an honorable? mention here:http://www.beaterblog.com/2009/09/beating-in-progress-scca-rally-cross.htmlMore Pics to follow.. and results can be found on the Detroit Region SCCA Site (in case someone is actually that interested!)Milan:FMC NIGHT AT MILAN DRAGWAY THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2009 The club will make a return to Milan on Thursday September 17. Cost to race is members $45 - non members $60 (includes a 1 year membership to the club) and spectators 12 and over $5. Gates open at 5:30 racing starts promptly at 6:00. I doubt the Bird will be running down the track (probably next spring), but it will probably be there. I think it is more expensive to run FMC nights, but it is the cheapest night to Spectate!Peace,Cooter Quote Selected
RallyCross and Milan Dragway Reply #1 – September 10, 2009, 06:33:36 PM I will be at Milan on the 17th, running the Mustang. I thnk it's a great way to celbrate my birthday! My wife looked at me in disbelief a few weeks ago when she asked what I wanted to do for my Birthday. She asked two more times over the next week to make sure I was serious. I would think she would know by now that I would prefer to go the drag strip over most anything else! Quote Selected

RallyCross and Milan Dragway Reply #3 – September 17, 2009, 11:42:57 AM Just a bump for Milan Tonight...$45-$60 to Run, but only $5 to Watch!!!! I have yet to see more than 40 cars running at a FMC Event, but I bet tonight will be an excellent blend of lots of cars and still a lot of runs. Temps are dropping into the low 60s towards the end, and clear skies.Lite the fires!Cooter Quote Selected
RallyCross and Milan Dragway Reply #4 – September 23, 2009, 09:38:02 AM Milan was a good night last Thursday. 86T-bird was there with TWO cars. He brought his Bird in addition to the Mustang. The highest number we saw on a car in the pits was 36, so again I believe there were less than 40 cars. My brother took a long break in the middle, left at 8, and still got in six runs in. One other notable (for us four-eye people) was a very clean 1986 Mustang GT in Black.Have a good Fall,Cooter Quote Selected
