How to Add Functioning Cornering Lamps to your car. November 23, 2006, 09:18:17 PM Parts Needed:Headlamp Harness: The wires for the cornering lamps are in the headlamp harness. You will have to locate a headlamp harness for your vehicle that is for the same engine and same type of headlamp (i.e. 4 eyed or not). The V8 cars have the alternator wiring routed through the headlamp harness and the 2.3's and 3.8's do not. TC harnesses are specific to TC's as well. Where a 3.8 and 5.0 headlamp harness will plug in the same, but one not having the alternator wires a TC headlamp harness has an entirly different connector that isn't even the same color.*At this time I am unsure on the alternator wire routing of a CFI 3.8 car.*Flasher Harness: For lack of a better term I will call this the flasher harness. It basically interfaces the dash with two of the "three pr0ng" flashers. Its about two feet long.Notice the connectors for the three pr0ng flashers on one end.Three pr0ng Flashers: You will need two. The factory pieces have little tabs sticking off of them too mount behind the dash. There are square and round varieties... This picture is of a square one, note the three pr0ngs. Cornering lamps : Of course you will need these, as well as the outside fender trim with openings............................................................................Looking through the area the radio is located you can see this empty black connector. This is where the short "flasher" harness plugs into.Now this is a behind the dash view of the same connector. That other connector is for the transmission wires. There is a harness that passes through the transmission tunnel under the carpet and plugs into this other larger connector. So if you can find it then the flasher connector is close by.Behind the dash, this is where the flashers origbuttstuffy mounted. You can get away with tucking them as far back as you can fit them.Basically all you should have to do is plug in the flasher harness with two three pr0ng flashers installed and fit the new headlamp harness and of course cutting holes in your fenders for the cornering lamps.
