Something to go along with the Remote Keyless Entry September 08, 2009, 11:31:41 PM Anyone done fly-down windows yet? Got an idea on how to do it, but just wanted to see if someone else already has and save myself some time. I know the switches will probably have to be changed out, though, or some sort of timer put in the latching circuit so the window can be bumped to position without always going all the way down. My best guess is that it's simply a relay paralleled with the window motor, that relies on CEMF of the window motor to keep it picked up. Once the window bottoms and stalls, CEMF goes to nearly zero, and the relay drops out. Anyone got an EVTM on something that has fly-down windows? I'd be interested to see how Ford did it on newer models. Fly-downs would be so much better coupled with remote keyless entry. Poke one button, bingo, windows go down and let the hot air out, doors unlock, and the lights come on. Maybe one day I'll get that vision system so the car can just drive me home? Quote Selected

Something to go along with the Remote Keyless Entry Reply #2 – September 18, 2009, 11:03:37 PM actuallythere was just a govt mandate that all these "auto window" features be equipped with a circuit that prevents the window from shutting incase a hand or child is trapped.I heard it on a news radio station and some of the major car buffs here may know exactly what i am talking about.now imagine your wife closes her window because a stranger is coming up. he puts his hand in the window and guess what.........I like the idea but then again i dont like it in my 08 exploder in how it works when i really dont need it to and i catch myself distracted trying to stop it.
