speedo?

I'm curious, my c4 has a spot where, what looks like, the speedo cable goes, and two wires.  My car doesnt have the speedo cable, but both wires are there.

Are the TC speedo's electronic, or is there supposed to be a cable.

If theyre electronic, are those two wires the speedo wires, or, are they the nuetral safety switch and reverse switch?

It didnt look like it would take a cable, it just looks like its plugged off and the wires are what drives the speedo.

I wish I had a pic. of it to show you, so you can see what I'm talking about.

C4 shouldnt have a plug for an electronic speedo. Prolly rev lights or safety switch.

from what I understand 83 and 84 tbirds and cougars had cable driven speedo's and all 85-88 tbirds and cougars had electronic speedo's the thing you are seeing is the speed sensor and does not have a place to plug in a cable.
