5.0L stumble.

I got a stumble off of idle. Kinda reminds me of an accelerator pump on a carb gone bad. You gun it in neutral and it stumbles then catches.I also feel it when I am driving on freeway and gun to pass traffic. Any ideas?

Any fault codes? Start there.

When was the last full ignition tune up? Fuel filter changed?

I changed the fuel filter because it looked really rusty. I was driving it the other nite and I desided to floor it to clean it out. The tach was jumping up and down and the car was missing really bad. Also the temp gause went way up. To just pass the N on normal. Took a bit for the temp to come down. I smell coolant also. Hmmm. I need to investigate.

codes is a good start,,
if no codes, sound exactly like the results you would get with injector screens being too dirty.
