I wish I could help you man. I have my GTP sitting out back but I really like that car, and I doubt you'd want it. :(

your probly aware that what you have there isnt as cut and dry as its worded here. they have a few programs like that up here as well(im not eligible for any and i wouldnt anyway) and if they are anything down there like they are up here the car will have to be inspected in order to qualify and likely have to be reinspected, so you dont waste that money on some beater 5speed mustang the guy down the street is selling and likely get stuck in a plymouth reliant, ford escort or something awful with four doors and a slushbox.
theres fine print there im sure of it.
let me tell you from experiance it it not easy to find a decent good running car right now for $1000 anywhere. my eyes hurt from checking craigslist everyday for the past few months just to find a half decent car to get to work in. im currently borrowing a car to get to work in and its not the most reliable situation so i sorta feel for ya there.

good luck

car will obvoiusly have to be inspeted anyway and have a clean title

Thats why my car wouldn't work, the airbags have been deployed, a deer hit it (Thats right, he t boned ME), Iowa is not an emission testing state so its never been tested, its flat green. The only pluses about this car is 1. New motor has lower mileage 2. Its supercharged (And it will prove it :burnout:) 3. I have gotten 30 MPG easy on a long trip on the highway.

Sorry dude :(

I missed the original wording myself.  I just spent the afternoon outside walking around with a beer in hand contemplating what to do with all that I have, which means projects, and debating what to keep and what to attempt to sell.  Yes, the Tbird is on that list.  So is the Fairlane, Mercury Meteor, and IH KB2's.  However, they are paid for, and sitting costs me nothing as long as I make my house payment, which is hard enough.  I'm on a 2 week on 2 week off status collecting unenjoyment on the 2 weeks off for 6 months now.  My wife lost her better paying job last December, and even though she collected unenjoyment for 3 months, her second job meant that she was over paid.  So on top of her losing her benefits, we're paying back what she collected.  Somehow we're still getting by.  But that also means I haven't touched any project at all, and I'm dreading the possibility that our daily driver will die on us.  The mortgage is our only priority.  If I stop posting, that means we halted the internet service in order to keep making our mortgage payments.  It sux, but it is what it is.  The moral of this is that no matter what, you have to keep finding a way, and keep your family in perspective.  The govt. programs are there to help you get back on track.  A lot of people these days are in the same boat.  Recovery is a foreign word around me and those I work with.  None of us asked for the recession to hit, and hit hard, but we must deal with it any way we can....never giving up.  Good luck!
