Air Fuel issues

Well I finally got the car running to a drivable condition. Now I am in the process of tuning it. Does anyone know the best boost controller and way to get the Air Fuel ratio right? (I have not hooked up the stock boost controller yet and am only boosting 5-7 psi.)

Anyone know how much boost I can get off the stock controller?

I am going to disconnect the knock sensor too.

Ya'll are always a big help. Thanks!

I fixed that...

One of my injectors was disconnected somehow.

Now I am boosting 18 or more (can't tell with stock gauge)

but I have run into the same problem that I had with the broken IHI

my car starts to stutter violently at 3000 rpm and has no power. I let it get to a lower rpm and it's fine.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Do you have bosh platinum plugs?  Try some cheap copper plugs gapped slightly under the recommended gap.

I have motorcraft plugs. I believe they are copper gapped at .034. Do I need to gap them less than that?

Would that cause the stuttering at 3 grand?

I gap mine at .036 and mine doesnt stutter I use autolite 764 copper core.  have you set your TPS?  base voltage should be about 0.97 volts. also check your fuel regulator by pulling the vacuum when the engine is warm and engine off to see if the inside is wet with fuel, if its not wet check your fuel pressure with the engine running Idle sould be about 32-35psi opening the throttle should make it increase fuel pressure. also make sure all of the wires going to your tps are making a good connection.

Your making boost? Have you checked for an Exhaust restriction?

right now it's an open exhaust about 3 feet or so of exhaust so there is no real restriction. I am not keeping it that way, I just needed to put a new  on.

Also, I noticed that it only sputters when it is around 3000 rpm in a gear. Not in neutral. Could this mean something?

*update* the car now dies at idle

starts off fine and slowly loses idle/rpm over about 1 min til it dies.

WTF IS GOING ON?

is your fuel pump new?  here about a month ago I had a similar problem.  mine would run fine and then randomly die, I found that the fuel pump was locking up while in operation. if you have a fuel pressure tester you might watch it while the car is idling and see if your losing pressure.

I don't think it is new actually. It would certainly explain the stutter and everything else. Time to open the tank :hick:
