Can't communicate with scanner after swap May 04, 2005, 11:19:50 PM Hi!I did the HO conversion on my 88 cougar. I installed a computer from an 89 mustang, and converted my stock wiring harness for mass air. The engine seems to run great, but when I accelerate, my check engine light flashes on. I think it's a problem with my O2's but I can't seem to connect to the computer with a scanner to see what codes are coming up. Is there any other modifications I need to do to the wiring harness? I'm using a computer with part# E9ZF-12A650-C2A, catch code A9P. I read somewhere that it may be because I need to modify the wiring harness for the O2 sensors? Has anyone encountered this? Thanks,Chris Quote Selected
Re: Can't communicate with scanner after swap Reply #1 – May 04, 2005, 11:47:08 PM Does the check engine light flash the codes when you activate the scanner??? If so remove the bulb, and the scanner should be able to get a large enough pulse to read codes... Quote Selected
