Drive shaft interchange

So I may be looking to get another T-bird/Cougar drive shaft (see here: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=24735 ). My question is this: do all 83-88 3.8 and 5.0 AOD cars share the same drive shaft? Also would the shaft from an 87-88 Turbo Coupe (auto or 5 speed) fit my 88 5.0 AOD T-bird? Thanks for any help.

Yes I've tried the search function but it's not helping me :hick:

So I need to find a 5.0 T-bird/Cougar or an 87-88 TC with a T5 to get the drive shaft from. The hardest cars to find at the yard:hick:. If I find a 3.8 AOD car I might take the shaft as it *should* work...

I have a driveshatft out of a 3.8l 88 bird. Shipping would probably be a killer though.

I'm going to see what I can do locally first;). The ideal thing is to swap in a drive shaft from the yard and see if it solves my problem. If I can't find one I know I can find an aluminium one from a Police Interceptor Crown Vic easily. I would have that one cut down and rebalanced and stick it in my T-bird.
