7.5 axle shafts July 29, 2009, 03:42:12 PM Is Moser my only choice for replacement 7.5 axle shafts? I found out here: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=24735 that I have a bent right (passenger) axle shaft and I'm going to replace both sides. 7.5 axle shafts Reply #3 – July 31, 2009, 04:37:05 PM Well turns out Moser raised it's prices. The shafts now cost $295, as they are a custom order. I ended up ordering shafts from Yukon Gears. They cost $120 each (or $240 for the set) and are made of the same material that Moser uses. Prices for the Yukon set may vary as you have to order them from a distributer and not straight from Yukon. If anyone is interested the specs are as follows:Yukon part# YAF750006 or 21184. 28 spline, 30" long axle shaft with a 4X4.25" bolt pattern for Ford Thunderbird/Mercury Cougar 1985.5-1988. The bearing surface was just different on the 85.5-88 7.5's.I have compared plenty of the 83-85 cars, and they have been the same.JeremyB's chart in one of the sticked threads covers all the dimensions.
