cat-back help

I just did a SD HO put swap on my 88 Tbird Sport.  The H-PIPE is the four cat factory one . Now I sold the exhaust from my 88 Stang.
My question is will any 86-93 mustang 5.0 cat-bac system work or do I need custom exhuast made? I know the tails for stangs are shorter , but when the lers are bolted to the h-pipe will they hang on the BIRD in the factory  location ? I'm not worried about tails I'll probaly be running turn downs .

typically, the flowtubes get lengthened a touch to the lers. many say the mustang tailpipes will work fine but this just isnt my experiance. the bends were all wrong. i had to cut, hack and weld to make them work. im having a shop bend up some new tailpipes this spring. id sugest doing the same if you dont decide to go with turndowns. if you still have the ball  on the hpipe you will either need the matching flowtubes or gut the  off and use make-ups. lers should find a nice home up in there. plenty of room. my setup is tube shortys, to stock stang h pipe gutted, flowtubes (stock length), flowmasters,  tailpipes. hope this helps...john
