Wanted: 88 Parts

Brake equalizer that sits under driver seat floor pan.  It should come off fairly easy and should have a good cable running through it with nubbed ends.

Working on something a little different (don't bother guessing) and I also need the following:

-pair of very nice chrome power mirrors

-set of very nice cornering lamp moldings with nice chrome insert

-set of very nice quarter moldings also with nice chrome insert

Probably.  I need one with little or no rust and that cable has to have little or no rust as well.  Thanks.

Are you talking about that L shaped bracket piece that the Center cable runs through? Are you just missing yours or is it broken? Do you just need a new cable? New cables aren't to hard to find. Also the new cable doesn't come with the bracket. I had to grind the heads of the rivets and take out those roller parts to get my new cable in there. Those parts are easy to clean and paint while apart. Just trying to help

Yes, thank you, please elaborate though. It looked to me like the cable and those pulleys weren't individually replaceable.  The shop manual lists that part as an "assy" which includes that cable running through it. Those rivet-type "nubbed" ends are needed to slide into the next cable and they need to be able to withstand my foot jamming on the e-brake if my brakes were to ever fail so cutting them off didn't seem to be an option.

Easy as pie. First you take it and the cable off the car. I used a Die grinder to grind off the Heed of the rivets on one side. Then I used a punch to drive the rivets out. Once the rivets are out I had to use a LARGE flat blade to help hold it open and those Plastic round disc pieces slid right out. Pay attention to how the cable wraps through the bracket and disc pieces. Once those disc parts are out the cable will fall out. Install the new cable in the bracket and install the wheels. Then I used short grade 8 bolts with RED thread locker. Been that way for 8yrs and never had a problem.  I've checked them several times and they are still tight as the day I installed them. It is so nice to have a real working E-brake setup. Especially with a Stick.

I also put a new cable through that bracket years ago. I seem to remember not taking it apart. I think I separated it enough to get the cable through.
