F150 computer.

It would be alright to use an F150 351 computer in my car for the swap, right?  I know I'd have to go with one for a manual cause the autos were computer controlled, but I'm not sure how much else is controlled by it.

And I did research, but wouldn't mind a few more opinions.

Depending on engine components, you'll likely need a Mass Air 5.0 EEC... Assuming a stockish 5.8, I suppose you could use a MAF truck EEC from '94-'96, but like a 5.0 MAF EEC, there will be modifications necessary to your original wiring harness...

IF you are talking later model MAF SEFI 5.8 computer, it should work just fine... Will just have to figure out the mods to use it with the earlier bird wiring harness(I don't have any pin out info on those computers)... The SD 5.8 computers are batch fire and fire four injectors at once... Could also be used on a stockish 351, but will require rewiring the 5.0 injector harness...

BTW the auto computer would work, it'd just set transmission codes since the electronic transmission wasn't being used...

Yeah, I'm going MAF.  Thanks for the clear up on the auto/manual thing.  I wasn't sure that the computer would let the engine start without signals from the trans.

interesting.,, didnt know that.  sort of a big brother to the 88 3.8 eh?

I suppose my 90 351 is like that.

Why did they do this when the 302's had been running bank fire for a few years already,, doesnt make sense.

Ok, figured a few things out.

Pins to be switched:  (using MAF Mustang harness vs. 94-95 truck)
19 to 9 - Fuel pump monitor
15 to 12- Inj. 6
42 to 13- Inj. 7
52 to 14- Inj. 8
14 to 15- Inj. 5

There are some that dont quite switch up...
Mustang side
29- Right HEGO
43- Left HEGO
49- Ground

Truck side
10- AC on
11- Canister Purge solenoid
27- EGR Valve Position sensor
31- Thermactor Air Bypass solenoid valve (AM1)
33- EGR Vacuum Regulator
44-Heated EGO sensor (HEGO)

It's looking like I might have to pick up some parts, but I have no clue what to do about the O2 sensors... I just put in dual exhaust....

Oh, and the links i used:

Can't you just get a Mustang computer? I'm curious.I've thought of a 351 swap later this year or next year.
