Anyone have a pic of my Type 6 mounts installed?

I should try to get you pictures of mine...my FMS 1 5/8" gt40p-specific shorties are quite close to the mounts. I couldn't even use them on the stock mount after grinding the stock mount away to almost nothing on the drivers side. The passenger side was/is fine on both mounts.

Mine fit with the stock mounts. I had to dimple one tube a bit (maybe 1/8 inch or less).

I "dimpled" it but stopped as I didn't want to go any further than the huge dent I now have in that tube. I'm not sure why the difference. I spent hours cutting away and grinding the bracket down further and further until I just had to say no more. These mounts are close but work - I don't remember how close they are in relation to the dent though as it's still right in that hard area to scope out. I was using a piece of paper to check for clearance...should slide through easily was my thought on everything.

Hmm perhaps differences in production from one header to the next?

Perhaps. I will say that my high-temp powdercoat is holding up great on the headers - I didn't think it would. I'll try to get some pictures when it stops raining later this week.

Here are some pictures of my mounts that are very similar to yours that I made 6 years ago for my car. The headers are made by Headman and mounted backwards to accomodate the turbos and the clearance is very tight on my mounts but there was lots of room when I just had a standard 5.0 H.O. and the headers on normal.

When my first T-bird got rear ended I bought that white bird with intent to fix it up but is was quite rusty on the floor pans so I got the bird I have now which was in much better condition and drove the white one as a daily driver for a while. Not it is still sitting right where you see it with a bad 3.8 v-6 engine.
