Dash Cover Replacement

I have an 88 Cougar and the dash cover is cracked. I'm looking to replace it. Does anyone have a step by step procedure for doing this? I understand its time consuming and hard to do.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement dash cover.

thanks in advance

First off let me tell you good luck finding a good used one or getting a dash cap and that about it unless you wanna try to recover it on your own. That is unless something has changed since the last time I looked into it for the 86-88 cars. Oh yeah and it never hurts to search first. But sometimes that doesn't make sense to any of us!

As far as the install is concerned....
The speaker grilles went  right in without issue.  The center cover over the sensor for the autolamp had to be filed down about 1/8th of an inch.  Other than that it was straight forward. Unbolt the dash retaining bolts and test fit it to see if tpuppies is necessary.  I had to do a little -- nothing major.  I also cut some spots out of my original dash that had lifted up along the crack lines.... It comes with adhesive.  In the picture I posted you may notice the slightest divet above the dash bezel. It smoothed out.  That was MY fault.  I banged into it.  The summer heat and closed windows made it all better ;)
