My cougar

Just got it in december. Got some work done to it, not alot yet, fixed some of the stuff it needed (harmonic balancer and oil pan) and got the hood shut.

Got ripped off, $1200, but only 87-88 cougar i could find in my area. Hadnt been on this forum beforfe then at all.

Its an LS so its a v6 3.8l , really shakey ride right now, lotsa rust. But love it for a 1st car. Looked for this year cougar for a while. Even before i had a lisence.

Not too shabby. It looks better than some I see around here. I saw in another post that you are going to be getting the car painted. Any idea on color. What color is it anyway? Blue, Siver? (Lousy work monitor :2gunsfiri )

nice find.  how many miles on it?  If you got ripped off then i got robbed.  I bought mine maybe 5 6 years ago for 3500, it had 58000 on it, not too much rust. ne plans on mods?

Might not be worth $1200 but you certainly could've done a lot worse.  I know I paid $400 more than that for a car with more rust and in worse condition, so you didn't do too bad.  And that rust, from what you've shown us, isn't bad at all.

Thanx alot, I really felt like it was a bad deal at 1st, but yea I geuss it wasnt to bad, it had like 120,000 miles on it, and had a bad smell to it which came out after getting it cleaned (it was old lady perfume). Its definately getting some body work done, not sure exactly whats going on with that, my dads paying for all that so im happy lol.

The color now is silver, im hoping to get it black, and then wait and mayb to the bottom (under the plastic) red, but im not sure  about the red yet.

I know i can get a really good deal buying a 351w right now, but i dont think im gunna end up doing that, i think im  just gunna fix up the v6. I dont need the speed, but i need it to move lol.

Pics from the interior to come soon, its pretty good in there but the plastic above the doors on both sides is cracked.

That car is in better condition than mine and I paid more than you too.  This thread reminds me of Mom use to say "no matter how bad you think you got it youself, there's always someone whos got it worse"...or something like that. :)

Looks like you did alright, the last cougar I went to look at had a 5.0 for $1200 but the bottom of the car was missing! Keep an eye out for a good looking cougar or TC for me! :)

:giggle: Hmm... maybe my expectations are on the high side, but my 347 deserves a good looking car to go in! I looked at 2 TCs the other day, one for $5500 little rust, cracked dash and window  :bs:  then the other for $3000 I offered him $2000 TOPS! I dont have that kind of money for a car to tear apart! :disappoin
